About the event

On March 8th Adam, Steff, Sean and Owen will be setting off on a 24 hour row at Initiate Strength and Conditioning. They aim to row between 320,000m (200 miles) and 345,000m across that time, with one of the four on the rower at all times.

Alongside them there will be a community rower, so anyone who wants to drop in and join them for a bit of rowing, at any time across the day/night can come along and take part in solidarity, for as little or as much rowing as you’d like.

The team will be setting off about 1pm on Saturday, March 8th to finish at the same time on Sunday, March 9th.

Any and all money raised with be donated to Ysgol Hen Felin so thank you in advance to anyone who donates!

About the charity

Ysgol Hen Felin is a Local Authority special school, providing education for pupils (3-19 years) with profound, moderate, severe and complex special needs.

The school provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all pupils, challenging them to achieve their maximum potential through equal access to an appropriate and relevant curriculum.

About the team

Adam Newman is a current Guinness World Record holding (blueberry eating) man child. A 21 year old hunk he enjoys gymnastics, producing photoshops of friends and carrying around little Steffan Rees in his back pocket.

Little Steffan Rees is the largest concrete merchant in the entire South Wales region. A patio king Steff is hoping a 24-hour row will help his legs reach full maturity.

Sean Cutler is a 7ft 11 oak tree that has recently been granted the gift of becoming a real boy by that big bloke from the Green Mile. One of his pulls on the row spans 1km and so he is anticipating breaking records during the event.

At 49 years old the recently hair-widowed Owen Hathway (the photo is a memory of those pre-bald times) is both the oldest and most follically challenged of the team. With zero social life he could not wait to spend 24 hours on a rower.
