Story

Velindre is a specialist cancer treatment on the outskirts of Cardiff. Every year they support roughly 5000 new cancer patients, their families and around 50'000 outpatients.

In a bid to raise money for a cause very close to my heart I (Rowan Allingham) will be taking on the Arctic Blast Challenge!

The Arctic Blast Challenge is an unsupported attempt to cover 100km across the Arctic Circle in 5 days. This is an immense challenge that I have decided to undertake in order to raise money for Velindre to give back to a charity that means a lot to me and my family. Many years ago my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer, and thanks to the support of Velindre he continued to live life to the full for 12 years after his diagnosis.

The charity were a shining light in a difficult time, and there are thousands of other people in similar situations benefitting from the support and care of Velindre and their staff. With cancer affecting so many people it is reassuring to have such an incredible facility in Wales, and I would like to raise some money to help their great work continue and reach more people & families.

Thank you to everyone for your support.

Rowan
