Story

Reuben is Rowing for Rucksacks

On Sunday 18th August 2024 14-year-old Reuben is embarking on a mission to row 20 kilometers to raise funds for 400 rucksacks for the children attending The Early Learning School in Entebbe. Many of these children do not have their own rucksacks, and those who do often carry broken ones. Reuben hopes to spread joy and make a significant difference in their lives.

For each 50 metres Reuben rows will equate to a rucksack for a child. Help Reuben reach his goal in raising enough money for each child to have their every own rucksack.

The rucksacks, which will be made locally in Uganda and the children will be able to choose their own fabric, adding a personal touch to each bag. Each rucksack costs £6 to produce, setting our fundraising target at £2,500. By supporting this event, you will help provide essential school supplies and empower these children with a sense of pride and ownership.

Reuben is being supported by Kickstart Coffee, a social enterprise that funds The Early Learning School through coffee sales. Kickstart Coffee's mission is to empower the next generation in Uganda through education.

Any additional funds raised will go towards pencil cases and stationary for the children.
