Story
I’m raising £5,000 to help my brother and his family get back on their feet after a devastating setback.
They’re already facing the unimaginable — their son Dylan is seriously ill and back in hospital. While visiting Dylan at Bristol Children’s Hospital on Sunday, April 27th, my brother’s van was stolen. Inside were all of his tools — everything he needs to make a living as a self-employed plasterer.
On any other day, the van would’ve been empty. But that morning, he packed it in advance so he could spend as much time at the hospital as possible, trying to balance being there for his family and still keeping his work commitments.
To understand the full heartbreak of this, you need to know a little about Dylan.
Back in 2015, he was a happy, playful 3-year-old, just two weeks away from his 4th birthday — when a tragic accident changed everything. He choked on a piece of ham and spent the next 20 months in hospital. Now severely brain damaged, Dylan relies on specialist care and equipment to survive. His life since then has been filled with numerous hospital admissions.
Through it all, my brother has worked hard to support his family and keep going. But now, while facing yet another crisis with Dylan’s health, he’s lost his van, his tools, and his ability to work — all in one terrible moment.
They didn’t need this. Not now.
He’s the kind of person who never hesitates to help others and is the first one to step up — and now he’s the one who needs a hand. If you can spare anything at all, it would mean the world. Every donation will help him rebuild what was taken, so he can continue supporting his family through one of the hardest chapters of their lives.
Please help if you can — and thank you so much for reading and sharing.
