I've raised £850 to help fund a display to honor Roy Bentley who captained our club to our first League Championship in the 1954–55 season.

Roy Bentley, our first captain to win the league back in 1955, has sadly passed away. Roy scored 150 goals for Chelsea and played 367 times for our club. He was our joint-fifth highest goal scorer of all time.
We are raising money to honor Roy Bentley with a display in The Shed End for the Liverpool home game in just over 2 weeks time.
We appreciate we have just raised money for Ray who had only recently passed away however it is very rare that two club legends should pass so close to one another, both needing to be honored by the supporters.
Please give what you can to this display, even £1 goes a long way and this display will be used once a year to celebrate his life.
The display will be made up of 2 key parts, one drop down banner costing an estimated £592 and another text banner costing £185 (plus delivery).
We thank you all for your donations and will, as always, publish the total end cost of the display. Any left over donations will be given to a Charity close to Roy's heart based on information the club can give us.
Another sad day for the Chelsea Family, RIP Roy - Champion.
