Story

On Saturday 21st February, The Athersley Reds will be walking from Oakwell Stadium the home of Barnsley FC to The Accu Stadium which is the home of Huddersfield Town FC. We are trying to help support families who are going through really difficult time. The charity we are fundraising for is ‘ Aalish’s RidetheTheme Dream.’ This charity was set up by a few members of the Athersley Reds family. Please see details below. Any donations are wwelcome.

On Sunday 10th June 2018 we sadly lost Aalish to neuroblastoma: a childhood cancer. She was 8 years old.

In memory of Aalish, we have started a charity and our aim is to raise money so we can help other families who have children with neuroblastoma. We will be working alongside the hospital(s) and our aim is to send them on an all expenses day out at a theme park of their choice in the UK.

Aalish lived for Theme Parks. Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Lightwater Valley, Gullivers Kingdom, Flamingo Land and Disneyland Paris are just a few she visited. Throughout all her 2 ½ year battle, she never gave up and continued to smile no matter how she felt or what she was being faced with.

We are determined to keep her memory alive.
