Story
Dr Richard Stone OBE is a life-long campaigner for social justice. He is setting up the Richard Stone Centre for Social Change to ensure his passion for social justice and action carries into the next generation.
Starting with Richard’s personal papers, the Centre will build an archive of material on social justice issues, promote its study, and channel learning to policy makers to help achieve social change. We are delighted to be partnering with the Centre for the Study of Social Justice at Oxford University, Wadham College, Oxford, and the Bishopsgate Institute to turn this vision into a reality.
We are already applying for grants to support scholarships, and oral history projects on stop and search, and the abolition of the double jeopardy law. We also need core funding to establish the Centre and archive, and fund a project manager to work on a larger fundraising strategy. Your support through JustGiving is vital to enabling us to launch the Centre and its work. We very much look forward to keeping you in touch with progress, and inviting you to future events.
