Hi, we are Laura and Rob Brooker. Our second daughter, Ruby, was born sleeping on the 4/3/2021. This has truly been the hardest thing we have ever had to face, firstly losing our beautiful angel who we had so many plans for, and secondly our hearts broke for our daughter Lily who had been so excited to be a big sister & even more so when we found out she’d have a little sister!

During the hardest time in both of our lives we were very lucky to be receiving exceptional care from the midwives at GRH. We were placed in one of the amazing bereavement suites which almost make you forget you are in hospital. Provided in the room was a hamper of food, drinks & goodies which was made up entirely by the midwives themselves.

We would like to keep Ruby’s memory alive in any way we can & help other parents who sadly have to go through the loss of their baby to feel as comfortable as we did during our time at GRH, so we will be providing the bereavement suites with hampers. Our aim is to provide these all year round for as as long as we can.

Our original target was to supply the bereavement suites with hampers for a year. Thanks to the generosity of so many we have now increased this target and would love to be able to supply hampers for two years. We would also like to include a bereavement book for parents to support them in their journey of grieving. The books are something that GRH's Bereavement Midwife has said would be a big help for parents. Any support you are able to offer of any size will help us to achieve this target & would be very gratefully received. Sadly, as these will always be needed, every penny over this target will go into making more.
