I've raised £5000 to honour the life of Ruby Cabral (née Goodhew)

Ruby Cabral was an exceptional woman who touched the lives of all around her.
She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) at the age of 22 and valiantly defeated her odds time and time again for 5.5years. Though her spirit did not stop her, her body had finally had enough and she passed away in bed on Saturday 28th October 2023.
She dreamed of becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and was able to study, qualify and practice as an RVN whilst battling her AML. She saved countless animals during her career and worked in multiple local practices, including: The Grove Hospital, Medivet South Wootton, Medivet Long Sutton, Medivet Wisbech and Terrington Vets. She had a keen interest in Emergency Critical Care and providing extraordinary care to her patients.
In her memory we are raising funds to be divided equally between two important places:
-Ellie Bray Memorial Fund - funding continual research for the prevention and treatment of AML
-Ruby Goodhew Educational Trust Fund - a new trust fund to support Student Veterinary Nurses during their education
Ruby's life was cut too short by her terrible disease. Please help us carry on her legacy to support the Veterinary Industry and to find the cure to AML.
