Story

Hi, my name is Ruby Ledger, and I am an Explorer Scout from 1st Davenport Explorers. After a couple of months of applications and selection processes, I had the honour of being selected to represent the UK at the 24th World Scout Jamboree.

The World Scout Jamboree is a huge scouting event that happens once every 4 years in a different country. It is attended by 40,000+ Scouts from over 150 countries, so to be able to represent the UK is an amazing opportunity. This time it will take place in West Virginia, USA. It will be hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada, and the Scout Association of Mexico, and take place 22nd July- 2nd August 2019

The overall cost is £3495, this cost is split between: flights, the Jamboree itself, a visit to an American city e.g. New York, the UK Contingent post event, home hospitality, and uniform.

More importantly, most of the money raised is used to fund Scouts from poorer countries, who without, would be unable to attend.

Thank you for reading, and every donation helps! :)
