    Story

Wor Geordie, our special Snowdog, came to us unloved, pale and uninteresting, needing love and attention. He was white with fright ripped away from the safety and camaraderie of his huge litter and sent into a world where he knew no one.

The 5 students and tutor at Newcastle college immediately set about to reassure him and make him beautiful and in just a few weeks he was resplendent with a brand new coat, designed just for him and the promise of a cosy scarf. Now Wor Geordie is a happy dog with a real purpose in life, he has become a piece of iconic Newcastle, carrying pictures and words to prove it. He is so beautiful he feels brave enough to go on the streets of Newcastle for a few weeks to help make people smile and eventually raise money for charity.

Wor Geordie is now very happy, posing for endless pictures and even on a bad night having to put up with people wanting to climb all over him and make him scratchy and itchy - but he knows its all for a good cause.
But, we worry about him and want to make sure that once he ceases to be a street snowdog he gets a good home... so we as the students who designed and painted him would like to raise funds to try and keep him safe and ensure he doesn't go to the great Snowdogs in the sky.

The staff and students at College have been very proud to be part of this fundraising event run by Wild in Art for St Oswald's Hospice, it was a lot of fun designing and painting our snowdog and we would love to secure him for college where he will be inspiration to current and future students. Many thanks to NBS for sponsoring the snow dog and college for supporting the project.
See Wor Geordie at St Nicholas's Cathedral.

The donations will be used to bid for our Snowdog, the proceeds of the auction will go to St Oswald's Hospice. If we don't raise enough money to win the bid and secure the snowdog the Hospice will get whatever we raise. If we get more then we need - any left over will also go to the charity.
