Story

Karate England are hoping to send a squad of athletes to the IKU World Karate Championships in Forteleza, Brazil this October. In order to raise funds they are holding a massive sponsorship event, inviting all club members of affiliated Karate England Clubs to take part in a Kick-Punch-Blockathon task of achieving 1000 kicks , 1000 blocks and 1000 punches in 1 hour. The event will take place across all clubs in the week commencing the 3rd June and will be overseen by respected club Sensei's to ensure all those taking place achieve their goals.

All donations received will be split equally between Karate Englands nominated charities for the event, and the squad.

The Charities:- Haven House Childrens Hospice in Woodford Green provides a range of services to seriously ill and life-limited children, including respite care, end of life care and complementary therapies.

St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood, Essex is a very hard working and well known hospice providing free, compassionate care and support to adults with life limiting illnesses and their families.

Karate Sport England (the sport side of Karate England) is a non profit making sporting association which promotes unrestricted training and competition, and can boast having world champions across all age groups from all 4 different world bodies in Karate.

Ruby has benefitted massively from the experience of being part of the Karate England squad and has progressed well in the sport. She is hoping to be part of the Brazil squad. Despite Karate becoming an Olympic Sport in 2020, funding below Olympic level is wholly reliant on fund raisers and the good will and dedication of the clubs, athletes and parents.
