Project Refugee smiles was set up in honour of Deah and Yusor, (Our three winners), two of UNC's dental school students who were planning a journey to Reyhanli Refugee camp, Turkey, to provide dental care to Syrian refugees. However they were not able to make this trip as their lives were tragically taken away before they could. These donations will aim to fulfill this vision that was cut short and also, as Dr Barakat puts it, we should help funding for these dental clinics because -children are supposed to smile.
