Story

My son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, fortunately for us we live in the UK therefore he receives all the therapy he needs to help him learn to live as independently as possible this is not so easy in Ghana where disability is viewed as a curse and disabled people are not valued in the communities and get no support or help to try and live as independently as possible. Simple therapy can help improve the lives of so many disabled people. With this in mind I have acquired a piece of land in a town called Tamale with the hope of Raising enough money to build a Therapy Centre where babies, children and adults with disabilities can come for therapy. Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Speech and language therapy. All to help them live as independently as possible.
Once I have been able to do this I intend to approach the government to help raise more awareness and improve life for disabled people in Ghana. Disability does not mean inability. Disability does not mean you can't work or contribute to society. Ghana's perception on disability needs to be changed.
I want to do my bit in making this a reality.
