Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Benjamin Franklin said “an investment in knowledge pays the best dividends”. With this in mind I would like to give a helping hand to 4 young individuals by raising funds to give them a chance to keep going to school.

The students I am looking to help include:
Tanatswa is a young girl who is 10 years old. Her parents have struggled to pay fees but she is clearly intelligent and hardworking having achieved results including English (88%); Maths (83%); Shona (91%); General Paper (94%)
Anesu is a young orphaned girl who is also 10 years old. She lives with her grandfather. Her last term results include Maths (90%); English (92%); Shona (89%); General Paper (85%). She has struggled with school fees and needs a little help to be able to re-join her friends and classmates.

Dylan is a 10 year old boy. Unfortunately with the economic constraints in the country his parents are not in full time employment. He was unable to attend school as a result with last year’s results including English (79%); Maths (80%); Shona (81%); General Paper (78%)

Monallisa is an orphan living with her aunt. Her results from last year include maths (73%); English (75%); Shona (64%); and General Paper (72%)
This initiative matters to me because I believe opportunity should be available to everyone especially to the young to make something of their lives. Raising this money would help us to invest in 4 young people who could help to make a change in their society tomorrow. This is a small investment with the opportunity for exponential returns.

This fundraising effort is also being coordinated locally by family members (including my mum) who are helping to look after the funds and will provide periodic progress reports on each of the students. The funds will be used for school fees, uniforms, lunch money (USD150 per student per term which works out at USD450 each for the year)
