Story

Hello, my name is Julia Drozdova and I am a Ukrainian war refugee in London. I am doing this fundraising to help re-build and re-stock hospitals and especially for those children injured because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine 379 children were killed because of Russian aggression in Ukraine by the end of August 31, 2022.

Moreover, 1114 children were injured (though numbers from the occupied territories are yet unknown). That means some of them may not have parts of their bodies...

Also, 2,328 educational institutions were damaged due to the bombing and destruction of weapons by the forces of the Russian Federation, 289 of them were completely destroyed.

At the moment children are not being able to go to school, unless the school has a proper shelter. During air raid alert signals all children and teachers are obliged to go there. It still happens several times a day all over Ukraine...

Kharkiv used to be a 1mln population city. It is located 40 km from Russian border. People still live there and hide in the underground as Kharkiv is under constant shelling. Russian army strikes every single day.

In order to protect the lives of children, I am creating this fundraiser to provide direct help to the Kharkiv Children Care Hospital #1.

To raise the money, I am going to run 379 km before New Year's Eve. One kilometer for every child that was killed.

I have not done any running since 2018, so this is not going to be easy for me as I am going to run during winter. But for Ukraine, this winter is going to be even worse. I know that with all the support that Ukraine gets from all around the world, we will eventually win this war. Nevertheless, we can save as many lives as we can.

Join my fundraising to protect the lives of children.
