Story
What is it?
The Chesil Beach Run: West Bay to Portland (Dorset, UK).
Only 4 people have ever completed this 18-mile beach run. If I succeed, I will be the 5th person and first woman to have done it!
I may also be running in a costume and, if so, I promise to have some embarrassing footage to share afterwards.
Who is it for?
I would like to use the opportunity to raise money for the impoverished in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has been on a downward spiral for many years now, and with the recent onslaught of Hurricaine Idai last year and the ongoing pandemic has brought the country to its knees. The poverty rate is 94 percent. Millions of Zimbabweans live without access to water, shelter or live without knowing where they will find their next meal.
Why this charity?
There are so many worthy charities and people in need right now. I know that marketing, administration, and advertising are crucial for charities to operate.
Through an old friend of mine, Mayuni, every cent can go directly to the individuals and families in desperate situations in Zimbabwe. Mayuni lives in Harare and knows exactly who is in need and where the money can best help.
Your money will go towards taking the pain out of someone's day. Through distributing essential food, water and sanitation products among the most struggling Zimbabweans.
I've attached some videos of Mayuni in action. He is a real, live saint!
How it started
Three years ago, I ran 724km across Zimbabwe to raise money for ZIMNAMH, the Zimbabwean National Association for Mental Health. The deputy director of the charity, Mr.Tendai Happya Mayuni, was by my side and he has become a good friend. Whenever I can, I send money to Mayuni, and he ensures every cent helps someone in need.
Please help make someone's dark day that little bit brighter.
Thank You!

4 years agoFINISHED!!! Firstly - thank you everyone, for the donations, sharing, support & general kindness. This money is so urgently needed in Zimbabwe, & your donation will literally put a meal on someone's plate or fill up an empty cupboard. As for the run - NEVER AGAIN. Though I am proud to say i am the 5th person ever & first woman! 18 miles of shingle in 3.45 hours. Thanks to James Stephen for all his support & for getting me a shout out and interview on BBC Radio Somerset! Love to all - video and photos on way! xxxx
