Our friends' beautiful little girl Alex was just six when she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in April 2018. She has already spent 33 days in hospital where she endured numerous operations, including seven hours of surgery to remove the tumour.
She has just completed more than 30 bouts of daily debilitating radiotherapy at The Christie in Manchester and is yet to start chemotherapy as an inpatient at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Alex has inspired so many people to give blood and fundraise and she has been an absolute trooper through this gruelling treatment.
We (my husband Craig, kids Jess and James and niece Reanna) are taking part in the Heaton Park big fun run on August 18 to help raise as much money as possible so Alex and her big brother James can create some wonderful memories during the hard times - they certainly deserve it. #alexandtheunicorns
