CAYP are back for a 2nd year with our fundraising running event! We are aiming to raise £10,000 for Genocost Commemoration Day which will be held on 2nd August 2025, and also raise funds to support the families in Goma affected by the recent atrocities.

Thanks to your support and donations, last year we managed to have the Genocost memorial event hosted across many countries around the world including London, France, Belgium, Brazil, and Congo. And we would like to support many more people to be able to host this remembrance day. Please check out the images below from our group run last year😊.

GENOCOST is an initiative started by the Congolese Action Youth Platform (CAYP). CAYP are a small self funded community group formed in 2011. This campaign aimed to have the 2nd of August recognised as a commemoration day to remember all the 6+million lives lost in the 2nd Congo war as well as those we have lost in Congo in our long history of violence. The 2nd of August was officially recognised by the Congolese government in 2023 and marked as a memorial Day. To find out and read more please visit www.genocost.org.com. CAYP also works in partnership with other community groups in DR Congo and funds are needed to organise events for the 2nd August, organising activities to continue to raise awareness, as well as supporting local projects and efforts in and out of DR Congo. In light of recent invasion by M23 rebel group in the East of Congo, Goma, many families have been left displaced/and or their livelihood threatened. Funds raised will be sent directly to our partners in Goma to help our brothers and sisters.
Any donations is welcome,no amount is too small.
Thankyou, we appreciate your support! 🏃🏾‍♀️🇨🇩🏃🏾‍♂️
