My friend Richard's story is one that has touched me and my family deeply. Richard and his family - Holly, Evie (10) and Mabel (5) - were only just starting to celebrate completion of Mabel's sucessful but punishing treatment for Leukaemia when Richard was suddernly faced with a diagnosis of an aggressive brain tumour. Just unbelievable. I have three children and my youngest (Aurelia) is close pals with Mabel - we saw some of what Richard and his family were going through during Mabel's treatment and I can barely imagine what they are going through now, and am in awe of their awesome attitude. So what can I do to help them? Well I used to do a bit of running - or at least I was able to run(!) - so I can train for and run a long way, a half marathon to be precise - a challenge, yes, but a microcosm of the challenge Richard and his family are facing.
