Story
Our Mission:
Our goal is to allow everyone a chance at an excellent free education and get the best grades at Maths and Science GCSE.
The Next Generation Of Education
We all should care about our children's education and bring up the next generation so that they can thrive and make the most of what this beautiful world has to offer and prepare them for the challenges ahead.
The Problem
As we know from the news, teacher recruitment is at all time low and almost 80% of all teachers leave the profession within the first 5 years. For Mathematics and Science teachers this percentage is amongst the highest and it is increasing year on year. In my first school which I taught in, 6 Mathematics teachers left in one year (there were only 7 teachers in the department).
This problem retaining teachers does not create an environment which is fit for our children learning in the majority of our schools. This is a major problem for pupils as the pupils can be left with a supply teacher for months (sometimes years). At one school which I taught in, out of 6 Mathematics teacher, 5 of them were PE teachers and only myself who had a Maths degree.
From my teaching experience pupils find Maths, Physics and Chemistry the hardest and fail to grasp mathematical and scientific concepts and need further support.
Our Solution
At Running Desk we provide hundreds of free lessons and examination type questions for pupils from SATS and GCSE all the way to A-Level in Mathematics and we are currently creating the same for the GCSE Science Exams. Our aim for the future is to do hundreds of online courses in all subjects ranging from driving lessons to electrical engineering all free of charge.
However we need donations to host the website and advertise so that pupils who currently need additional support with Maths and Science can access our online courses and can pass their exams.
Our highly qualified and experienced teachers are so passionate about teaching that they have done the online courses for free.
