Story
Running for Dad
In October last year we lost our Dad.
He was diagnosed with cancer earlier on that year and everything happened very quickly. From getting the diagnosis, being told he couldn't work, starting chemo, looking and feeling different and basically his and our world turned upside down.
You never think something like that could affect you or your loved ones, but sadly it does.
Our mum was an absolute star. From trawling through the Internet finding out what was happening so she had plenty of questions for the doctors, to getting recipe ideas and natural remedies for Dad.
She never stopped looking for what was on offer. And she still hasn't.
We are now going to be helping one of the charities and the states in developing a model that will give information at your fingertips online, and leaflets giving information on how to access all the support available.
It will give advice on nutrition, local charities that offer help and support, social activities, financial advice, help with accessing benefits and what healthcare is available to you free of charge, and lots more.
So if you donate even £1 we will make sure it goes to good use. Knowledge is power and we want everyone to know what they're entitled to and what's out there for them, whilst going through one of the hardest things anyone can go through.
