Story

In the year between my 29th and 30th birthday, I have completed the "run up to 30" challenge, where I had to enter and run at least 30 races before hitting the big scary THREE-OH(no!)

These included: 3 x 5ks, 10 x 10ks, 2 x 5milers, 5 x half marathons, 3 x trail races, 4 x cross counties, 2 x country relays, a 5.30am race, a night time race with glow sticks, a muddy obstacle course, an 18 mile walk with the dolphins, and a run for beer race dressed as thing 2. I've loved them all!! ...mostly.

A number of these races are organised in support of some great charities. The entry free to the race often only covers the organisation and running of the race, and I have made a donation to these charity myself. However, any donations made on this crowd funding page will go solely to support the fantastic local charity, Operation Drawstring. They actively support the homeless community in Birmingham. "Operation Drawstring initially began as a social action project which aimed to spread some cheer to those on the streets of Birmingham this Christmas. However this has now advanced into a year round operation. Providing support, essentials and advice throughout the seasons. The campaign is very simple, it involves members of the public putting together a drawstring bag (waterproof, durable, and easily portable) of essentials and some luxuries for a member of the homeless community.

A small team of volunteers then carry out a daily/nightly street walk to hand out the bags with any spare bags are distributed to hostels/shelters after each walkround."
Donations of items and money help make these drawstring bags possible. Led by the wonderful Kerry Lenihan"
