Story
Our gorgeous boy has a hypoplastic right ventricle, effectively half a heart. It is a condition he was born with and that cannot be "fixed". However, with several operations and specialist support there is every hope that Rupert will lead a full and happy life, all be it with some lifestyle limitations.
The care that Rupert receives is lead by the amazing cardiac department at Birmingham Children's Hospital and we are supported as a family by the charities Little Hearts Matter and the Ronald MacDonald House as well as the wonderful hospital staff themselves.
The aim of this page is to raise money to show our appreciation and thanks to these people by donating any money raised to the Birmingham Children's Hospital charity, Little Hearts Matter and Birmingham Ronald MacDonald House. 5 years agoCavo-pulmonary shunt open heart operation (Glenn) complete and recovered in just 8 days!!! As ever the staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital were incredible and the accommodation at Ronald McDonald House was invaluable. If all goes well that should be it for operations until Rupert hits 4 or 5 years old. Now we can relax for a bit we shall step up our fund raising efforts so watch this space for details.
