Being the other side of the world makes it difficult to help, but as I write, my home town of Tumut, the surrounding country and my parents' property where I grew up, is under severe threat from the fires that are currently affecting so much of Australia. Proceeds from my Coffee Morning on 10th January will go directly to this fundraiser to help the incredible efforts of the Rural Fire Service of New South Wales, many of whom are volunteers who are risking their own lives to help others save theirs and their homes. I know lots of you have a strong affinity with Australia, so I'd be really grateful if we could get together to help in this small way.
