Story

Childhood sexual abuse is a serious issue in Sri Lanka and RuRi Foundation will be going there this October to deliver free therapy & education to school children and staff across the country including a visit to a women’s prison. We have raised some funds from our previous fundraiser but we need a little more to enable us to travel safely.

We believe that empowering young children to be safe is paramount in preventing sexual abuse.

Additionally, as part of our mission we will be offering our individual professional skills in therapy (NLP, acupuncture, mindfulness) for the children, staff as well as helping to rehabilitate women in prison, some of whome may come with a background of childhood abuse.

Please support us on this mission which will will help transform and save lives!

The money you donate will be used to hire a vehicle, a driver and for basic accommodation while we deliver our programme through the 10 days Oct 12-22nd 2018.

If we generate more, we can use the funds to provide reference booklets to the school staff on our workshops so they can implement and reinforce what they learn long after we have left.

We are all parents, taking time off work to be away from our families to do this crucial work but we are passionate about this mission and desperately want to do all we can to see it succeed. CSA is a huge issue all over the world but more so in SL and we just can‘t sit at home and do nothing, so we are going on this mission to learn, to share our skills and to make a small but powerful difference to forge a happier, healthier & hopeful future for the children of Sri Lanka.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
