Story

I would like to appeal to your kindness and generosity in helping this young black cat to have the operation he so desperately needs to be able to walk again.

He is extremely friendly, well behaved and tame and was living on the street beside my apartment. He has a lovely personality and is quite adorable, I used to feed and play with him and his friend on a daily basis. His friend disappeared two weeks ago (to a good home I hope) and I really didn't have the space to keep him but had started trying to find a good home for him.

NOW THIS IS THE CHALLENGE… Last week I found him laying behind a bush with a serious problem with his leg and in a lot of pain. I took him to the vet and they felt that he had been hit extremely hard by a car or kicked by someone and his leg has been completely removed from the hip. If he tries to walk and he drags the leg behind him. The required surgery is a femoral head ostectomy (FHO), a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck from the femur. FHO surgery is performed to alleviate pain. It is a salvage procedure, reserved for condition where pain can not be alleviated in any other way.

I have funded vet visits, worming, X-rays, tests for FIV and other viruses and they came back clear. He is on pain relief and antibiotics of which I will obviously continue to fund but I really need help in paying for the operation he NEEDS as soon as possible. As soon as I have the necessary funds, I will book him into surgery immediately. The cost is approximately £700, so anything you can contribute will help and he and I would be extremely grateful.

Once this is done and he recovers he should not have any problems and he will make a fabulous loving loyal pet for someone. I will keep him in my bedroom until I find him a caring home that can give him the love that he so deserves. I would dearly love to keep him but i have two older cats in a 1 bedroom apartment, and it simply would not work.

If you would like to know more about him and his situation, I would be more than happy to let you know or give you progress reports.

Please, please, please try and find it in your hearts to help this little fella live his life again……

Thank you in anticipation, Russell
