Story
On Sep 21st Russia started mass conscription of up to 1 million people. Many of them do not want to be a part of the bloodshed protesting and sabotaging the conscription despite the risks of imprisonment. The draft offices and military forces have been terrorizing the Russian men with signing them up to the army forces unwillingly. Some of those caught up are to be sent to the battlefield within the first 10 days of their service, with absolutely zero training and necessary equipment. For hundreds of thousands of them the only way not to end up dead on the battlefields of the foul Russian war against Ukraine is to leave the country immediately.
The poorest regions of Russia are even in greater danger. We are facing a massacre of the indigenous people of Russia as a lot of individuals sent to death first belong to the Russian national republics such as Dagestan, Buryatia, Sakha or Tyva. We need to let the voices of ethnic minorities in the Russian Federation be heard. Men there are called to the army even more actively in proportion in comparison to those regions where ethnically Russians are the majority. For those populations the death of men means the extinction as an ethnic group. They have fought against Russian imperialism, and we can’t let them die for it.
We can’t forget the Ukrainian citizens who live in Russia. In 2015 there were around 5,864,000 Ukrainian citizens living on Russian territory. The US Department of State suggests that as of 13 July 2022, Russian authorities had forcibly removed between 900,000 and 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens from their homes in Ukraine to Russia. These people can get conscripted and forcefully sent to fight against their own country. Some of them tried to leave for the past months but they did not have the means to do so. We need to help them escape Russia. We believe that any person who is not fighting in this horrendous war on Russia's side makes Putin weaker.
The mobilisation will affect not only men. Women of certain professions such as doctors or specialists in the field of computer technology are considered liable for military service and could be conscripted into the army. Doctors, pharmacists, paramedics and pharmacists are at great risk.
We are Russian students, professors, doctors and workers abroad and we support those who run away from mobilisation and do not wish to become an arm in an unlawful bloody war. We have been protesting and raising the voice of Russians against the war since February and we want to help our relatives, friends as well as other fellow Russian citizens to silently protest against the war by leaving the country. If they don’t leave, the mobilisation, or jail and police torture awaits them.

At the moment there are few organised initiatives to help them flee Russia. We are in touch with organisations which support people on the ground within the country, as well as individuals who arrange emergency housing, transport and humanitarian aid at the countries of arrival as well as all the rest of the world.
The money donated to this plea will go to help the needs of those in a dire situation right now.
Many of these include families with children who have to spend nights in the streets since there are no shelters or housing yet. For many of them getting out of the country is pivotal and is a matter of life and death.
1300 GBP could cover the monthly rent in Astana/Almaty (Kazakhstan) for four people. 1600 GBP is the rental cost of a 4-bedroom flat in Tbilisi (Georgia). With 2000 GBP we could provide housing in Yerevan (Armenia). Please help us and let's stop this war all together!
For safety reasons, we cannot publish the exact organisations that we will be teaming up with. If you do have any questions, kindly email info@rusdemsociety.co.uk
