The Charity

“Hooves for Healing (pony assisted therapy), is a small non-profit charity, which has been nurtured and grown over the past year. We offer person centered pony learning /therapy to children and young people in our community. Research has proven that Equine Assisted Therapy offers great benefits to children on the autistic spectrum and those suffering from mental health issues including stress and anxiety. Children and teens, if able, can ride our ponies, as well as having one on one sensory development sessions and agility games with our beautiful patient ponies.

Hooves for Healing is made up of a small committee of people known to myself; we are all from different walks of life, and all share the belief that pony assisted therapy/learning is an alternative holistic tool which can be used to help so many. Our clients testimonies give weight to this.

We currently charge £25 for each session offered to clients, if we raise funds through kind donations we can offer further price reductions. Social Services have funded children in care to access our roll on programme of therapy with great results. We have also forged links with Autism Togethers Rainbows group and had open afternoons for the families to enjoy time together.

Claire House have also enjoyed visits from us in the past and we have a vision to take our ponies out to the many special needs schools here in the Wirral with the view to offer visits on a regular basis. We are hoping any funding can be used for this venture.” – Pam (Hooves for Healing)

Donations of any amount are very much appreciated.
