Story
Hi! After 9 years of trying to get in to the London Marathon I'm finally getting to run it. I have been incredibly lucky to have been given a place where I don't need to raise money for a particular charity and can use it to go with my heart (thank you so much Runnpac love you all).
Over the last year I have been running with Runnpac - a running club based in East London. It's a real community and I've made many friends and had loads of fun, it's really enhanced my life in many ways. One of the ladies there Nicole was unfortunately diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year. It's the most aggressive type of breast cancer and triple negative means it's immune to all three types of hormone therapy available which means you have no choice but to go straight in with chemo and immunotherapy. The chemo has made Cole extremely tired and sick and she is currently on sick leave. She has been at her job (assisting SEN pupils with their education) for less than a year and so only qualified for one month of full pay then went straight on to half pay. She hadn't applied for benefits as she was expecting to work through her treatment but unfortunately was not allowed to work from home. As we all know with the cost of living managing on a full wage living in London is hard enough but doing it on half is not workable and worrying about paying bills is the last thing you should be doing when not in full health. All money donated will be given directly to Nicole to help alleviate her financial worries and hopefully allow her to concentrate on her treatment and recovery. She's due to finish her chemo mid May and then go on to immunotherapy and surgery after then.
