Story
When we launched our petition in July to save Guildford Shopmobility, we knew how important this service is to so many people. Access to Guildford is not easy for people with mobility issues whether due to a permanent disability, or a temporary issue like a recovery from an illness, injury or operation - this service is open to all in need and allows people to manage the hilly, cobbled town centre with ease. Without it people with mobility issues are unable to utilise all that Guildford has to offer.
Thanks to your support, your signatures, your messages, and everyone who shared our campaign, we have helped give Guildford ShopMobility a future. YES - we are opening again very soon!
But our journey isn’t over yet.
Two new scooters have been taken and sold elsewhere! So the service is reopening with a depleted fleet and equipment that has worked hard for many years. Some scooters and wheelchairs urgently need replacing, while others need refurbishment to keep them safe, reliable, and available for everyone who depends on them.
That’s why we’ve launched this appeal, to update and upgrade the fleet of equipment.
If Guildford ShopMobility has ever helped you, a family member, a friend, or if you simply believe everyone should be able to access our town with dignity and independence, please consider making a donation. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us buy new equipment, repair existing scooters and wheelchairs, and keep this vital community service running for years to come.
If you’re unable to donate, you can still make a huge difference by sharing our Just Giving page with others. The more people who hear our story, the closer we’ll get to providing the modern, reliable equipment our users deserve.
Our petition has shown what our community can achieve when people come together. Now please help Guildford ShopMobility not just reopen, but thrive.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for standing with us
