Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Ruth was 23 when she had a brain stem stroke and had just been promoted as an assistant manager of a pub in Cleckheaton. Today at 27, she is confined to her bed and is in a 'locked in' state, requiring care from carers and her loving boyfriend, Tom, who has had to fight hard to get pretty much every piece of equipment they 'own', Including a home that is currently, being renovated and adapted to a more homely standard.
To help her recover, which will involve , lots and lots of hard work, effort and determination, which Ruth has in abundance, she needs help with extra physio and equipment. As for what kind, that will be determined depending on Ruth's progress and to be agreed with the neccesary professionals. Any money raised, will go directly to Ruth to purchase whatever equipment or theraphy that is deemed most useful at the time.
Now, I didn't know this amazing lady before her catastrophic event, and I only met her for the first time in February, but with her wit and bright outllook, which shines through her eye speak computer, I have been inspired massively and want to help in whatever way I can..
I hope that if you have got this far, you are able to donate to this great cause. However small or however large, I know these two people will be extremely grateful.

About the fundraiser
I am the Cousin of Tom. Meeting Ruth has left me amazed at how upbeat someone can be in such a terrible situation and what with the state of the NHS, funding for essential equipment just isn't there. She has little or no family to help, just a few friends, her carers and Tom.
