Story

Growing up, I was always a Daddy's girl, idolising my Dad and turning to him in any situation where I needed advice. Sadly, on the 6th March 2017, I lost my dad, aged just 61, after his long and hard fight with cancer.

Throughout my Dad's journey with cancer and the ups and downs we faced as a family, Queenscourt Hospice was a constant place of support, both medically and emotionally. The staff and volunteers create a heartwarming and friendly environment which make the realities of facing a terminal illness a lot less scary due to their support.

In memory of my Dad who loved his fitness, enjoying Squash, Horse Riding and his daily workouts at the gym and as a thank you to Queenscourt, I am running the 5k Santa Dash in Liverpool on the 3rd of December 2017 (alongside Laura Baines) to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice. As most of my friends and family will know, I have never ran much more than around the block, so this will be a big challenge for me!!

Most of us are affected by cancer at some point during our lives, so lets come together to help raise money to care for those who are or will in the future be affected by this illness. Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference to a great cause.

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die - Thomas Campbell.
