    Story

Hettie is a gorgeous, chatty, clever and beautiful 2 year old little girl who has a twin sister called Evelyn. Unfortunately when Hettie was around 8 months old, she started to regress and failed to progress any further than sitting up. After months of tests, she was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2.

Hettie and Evelyn's mummy - Anneli is a colleague of mine, a Police Officer and a strong, loving & courageous mum.
Her strength and determination to ensure her girls get everything life can offer whilst managing with Hettie's illness and the treatment she requires really tugs at my heart as a mother.

SMA is a lifelong condition and is life limiting, its not known how long Hettie has on this earth.
SMA affects the entire body. The weakness starts centrally and works outwards. Without a cure Hettie will never walk and will only get weaker.

Anneli, her friends and family want to make her life as easy as possible for her by fundraising for her throughout her life to provide her the best equipment possible.

As a friend and a colleague I want to help! Raise awareness so that we can support Anneli and raise funds to help give her family quality time together.

    Then there's me!
On November 12th 2016, at the Vale Hotel, Hensol. I will be taking part in a white collar boxing competition arranged by Gareth Owens of South Wales Police.
This event has been run annually for a number of years now and has raised thousands of pounds for charities including Ty Hafan, Y Bont and many more. The boxers are either South Wales Police employees or members of partner agencies we work with.
The boxers involved all have little experience and many are complete novices (like me) however for charity we will compete in 3 two minute rounds of boxing in front of up to 400 friends and colleagues.

There will be updates/videos and progress reports for you follow on my journey - I ask that you PLEASE dig deep and sponsor me... for Hettie's fund xx
