Story

Recently, I've been inspired to make a positive impact both personally and socially. This, coupled with the loss of Felix, one of the most extraordinary companions I've ever had the privilege to share my life with, has motivated me to undertake a significant physical challenge to raise funds for the brilliant cat rescue centre from where Felix was adopted. I've shared a little about both below and sincerely hope you can donate a few pounds to support this sanctuary.

Felix: He was found in a Bradford house, locked in and abandoned. He had been cruelly stamped on, resulting in smashed teeth and a broken tail. Rescued by the council and taken to the rescue centre, he later joined our family. It took months of care and veterinary visits for him to overcome his physical ailments and fear. Felix, once he trusted us, revealed a personality larger than life - a cat who lived for cuddles, food, and companionship. Sadly, after 4.5 years, he began to suffer from early-onset dementia, likely due to the trauma of his previous life.

Allerton Cat Rescue: This amazing place, run privately by a dedicated family, has been where our family has adopted many cats. They are committed to protecting animals that cannot protect themselves, often overwhelmed with the number of animals needing care.

The Physical Challenge: I want to assure you that all donated money will go directly to the rescue, as I will cover all the challenge's costs. The challenge is to cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End in 10 days, not the average 14, covering nearly 150 miles a day. This includes traversing two UK mountain ranges and climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest twice on my Trek gravel bike with road wheels. This epic journey is set for May, giving me four months to prepare while maintaining my usual work and family life. It's a huge undertaking, but I hope it will encourage people to donate to a charity that's truly worthwhile.
