I'm raising £500 for macclesfield hospital breast cancer ward
During covid-19, my mum, Gena Moors, got diagnosed with stage 1 grade 3 breast cancer. That’s the type of news no one wants to hear especially during a lockdown pandemic where it was much more difficult to book appointments to get the treatment she needed to battle, then eventually beat, cancer.
At the age I was, i didn’t know how serious and life changing it was for my mum but when she came home with no hair on her head, it clicked that this wasn’t an easy thing to deal with. Thanks to the support she had around her and the strength she had to fight it she caught it early and she is a surviver.
She didnt let cancer get the better of her and you can make a difference on whether someone you may know or a random stranger survives it or not. Each year, about 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. It is more common in women over 50, but it can also affect younger women. I bet you didnt know it was that common.
