    Story

Please join us to help raise some funds to help support Cath and son Harry who have recently suffered the loss of their adoring husband and devoted father Ryan. Ryan sadly passed away on Sunday 28th July under tragic and unforeseen circumstances.

Ryan and Cath met 15 years ago and have been soul mates ever since. They married on 28th September 2013, a beautiful day shared by many relatives and friends. Ryan and Cath’s extraordinary loving relationship was effortless and an inspiration, they really were ‘that couple’ we all aspire to.

On 7th March 2016 Ryan and Cath welcomed their son Harry into the world. Ryan was so proud to be a father and he filled Harry’s world with such love and support. Harry adored his daddy and they looked forward to every moment spent with one another and the amazing adventures that would unfold! He was without doubt the best father Harry could ever need and more. As a family unit the three of them could not have been stronger. The love and teamwork both Ryan and Cath displayed in helping their young boy grow has been admirable and Harry is a credit to it. We won’t forget the 4th member of the team their rescue cat Wilson.

Ryan loved his family, he was also the ever so proud and loving son to his parents Helen and Mark, a loving brother to Leanne and her partner Matt, Ryan was a role model and adoring uncle to nephew Louis. Ryan had such a special relationship with his grandparent’s Leighton and Mary, his Grandma Barbara and uncle Andrew.

He was a dear son in law and brother in law to Cath's Mum and Dad and three brothers. So much so that they loved him like a son and a brother. Cath's dad admits, “You could not have found a better person to marry your daughter than Ryan.”

Ryan took so much pride in his work and was a valued and notable team member. He played a huge part within each workplace whether that was BT, Spectrum or his recent profession at Royal Mail. At Spectrum, Ryan loved his important role in caring and supporting adults with behavioural needs, Ryan worked his way to become a respected deputy manager. Ryans work ethic had just earned himself a full time contract with Royal Mail. He always had a big smile and friendly nature during his rounds within Truro and neighbouring areas. He was so efficient and so hardworking because he knew the sooner he finished his round, the sooner he could be home with his beautiful family. Recently he had been working extra hours helping to fit carpets. Ryan wanted to support Cath and Harry financially as much as he could and save towards a family holiday.

Ry was an avid Manchester United supporter. He breathed his love of football and playing for his local team and clubs. Annoyingly, he had a natural ability to be good at pretty much any sport or game. He had a competitive but fair nature, which gave him the edge to always win over his mates. He was in particular a dab hand at football golf, family fun games and playing Fifa.

Ry absolutely loved One Direction and was not ashamed to admit it, he and Cath even went to see them live. His favourite film was Forrest Gump, so much so that the theme song played a part in his and Caths wedding. His favourite TV shows were the American Office and Friends. Friends played a huge role when Ryan and his friend Dan set up their own podcast 'The Friends Zone Podcast', Ryan and Dan were the real life Joey and Chandler. Each week they would review a Friends episode also discussing their day to day lives and funny incidents and infectious friendship. Ryan passionately included stories and moments about Cath and Harry for the listeners.

Ry’s positivity and outlook was so incredibly infectious to everyone lucky enough to have known him. He was a best friend like no other to many, he cherished and was incredibly invested in every one of his friendships.

Ry had the ability to make you laugh with his quick wit, comical timing and wonderful expression. His dad jokes and puns were second to none.

Ry encouraged others to strive and was sincerely proud of their achievements. Ry was empathetic and went above and beyond to help those in need, he would ride the journey with you and offer support at the drop of a hat.

Ryan embarked on a number of Charitable endeavours to mention a few... A sponsored skydive, a fancy dress climb up Snowdon with one of his best friends and a charity football match he had been planning recently.

This wonderful man was remarkably kind, funny, generous and sweet, he had such a big heart which could never be overfilled and he always had more to give. You only had to meet Ry once for him to leave a positive imprint and you could not help but feel happy around him “like sunshine he always lit up the room.”

Ryan always said to Cath “Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up again.” It goes without saying that we will all support Cath and Harry to continue and make Ryan proud, and he will always be with them every step of the way.

The funds raised will play a part in helping Cath and Harry take steps to move forward in this tragic time but will also contribute to the funeral and celebration of Ryan’s life.

PLEASE. We encourage everybody to comment and to leave cherished memories about Ryan. We would like to celebrate who Ryan was and how he touched each and every one of us.

Only met Ryan twice very briefly with Harry. I learnt that Ryan was scared of birds - but he was brave enough to let Harry explore and meet our chickens and turkeys. xx
