I've raised £200 to support young people from my work who are going to South Africa to build homes for local homeless families facing severe poverty in 2018

2018 is the year of the young person and as part of this a group of young people from my work are travelling to South Africa where they will build homes for local homeless families facing severe poverty and visit local aids orphanages to play with children, hear their stories and provide them with toys etc.
Each young person and leader has been tasked with raising £2000 for this trip to pay for travel, insurance, accommodation, food, building materials and everything else needed for this aid trip.
In order to raise some money towards this trip myself, John Hutchinson and Andrew Thompson will be taking part in the liffey descent on the 23rd of September. The Liffey descent is kayaking race in Ireland over a course which is 28.2 kilometres long consisting of 10 Weirs and 1 portage. It starts at the K Club above Straffan Weir, Co. Kildare and about 28.2 kilometre later finishes at Trinity Rowing Club in Dublin.
This is a huge challenge for all three of us and we hope that in the process of tackling it we can raise some funds towards a great cause.
Thank you for any support you can give us !!
