I've raised £200 to Donate to a hospital in Ghana and to buy much needed items for the communities.

- ALL DONATIONS are being given to the hospital, community projects and schools or being used to buy essential items for individuals or communities.-
Hi All,
For my nursing elective placement I have decided to go to Ghana to volunteer mainly within one of the hospitals as well as going into the communities to offer health care to those who don't have any access. I will also be going to some of the volunteer led schools to hopefully help to teach basic first aid skills to some of the deprived children of Ghana within the safe place that has been provided for them to get an education and make friends.
The area of Ghana I am volunteering in is a few hours drive north of the capital city of Accra in a rural area. The hospital I am volunteering in is incredibly overcrowded with patients lying on floors due to a shortage of beds. There is very limited supplies for example the maternity unit only had one pair of rusty scissors and patients aren't being given pain relief due to the cost of the drugs. Its a massive difference to what we have within the NHS.
The items I would like to buy to take include:
-Sanitary pads (Disposable and reusable as period poverty is a big problem)
-Reusable nappies
-Small first aid kits
-Educational equipment
ANY donations of either items or money are a big help and I would be very grateful. They would be a big help to the people who are in need in Ghana. I hope to use these donations to make a difference in these peoples lives even if its only a small one!
Thanks xxx
