I've raised £500 to raise awareness and funds for Families Activity Breaks (FAB) in support of bereaved military families.

Having returned for my second year as a FAB volunteer supporting an amazing group of individuals who are there because they all have one thing in common, they have suffered the loss of a loved one who served in the military, i have decided (coaxed) that i would take part in a charity bike ride to not only challenge myself but earn some much needed funds for FAB.
The challenge is aptly named 'FAB 500' and will be a cycle of 500 miles on either a static or manual bike and will be completed over the month of October, approx 16.2 miles a day...........
What is Families Activity Breaks (FAB) i hear you asking?
(FAB) is a non-public funded, tri-service charity (registered charity no. 1178108), providing fun and challenging activity camps around the UK for bereaved Military families. FABs aim is to provide families with an opportunity to enjoy adventurous activities whilst encouraging self-confidence, friendship and peer support in the aftermath of their loss.
Who is eligible?
We support any bereaved military family where a child aged 19 and under has suffered a loss of a serving loved one (parent/step parent/ legal guardian/sibling/carer) regardless of the circumstances surrounding their loss. We are not a bereavement holiday, however we have qualified volunteers and councilors on hand to assist the families as required.
What is the cost?
The cost for a family to attend a week long FAB holiday is just £75. This will provide accommodation, food and organised activities for the whole family for a week.
FAB is staffed by volunteers from the Armed Forces, Defence civilians and Ex-Service personnel, helping as mentors, lending a helping hand or simply being someone to talk to. They are all trained to support children and young adults facing bereavement.
