Our Beloved Uncle Moin Uddin passed away on the 30th of May, 2021

‎إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

He was my grandparents’ only son, our mothers’ only brother, our only uncle, and the backbone of our family. He was a gentle, humble and caring man who loved his children dearly, his smile bought comfort to many of us. His children and wife are left without a father/husband and are devastated, an empty gaping hole has been left behind in our whole family.

Growing up in poverty, living alone without any parents in a developing country from a young age, and having lost his father, he carried heavy responsibilities and became a father figure to many of us. Yet, he was always grateful and spent his life befriending and helping the impoverished, homeless and local mosques, including converting his family home into a small madrassah so children can get education.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)

Sadaqah Jariyah is a sustainable and ongoing form of charity. The rewards can be reaped in this lifetime, and even after we have passed away Subhanallah.

With this in mind, our family has decided to raise funds, with your help, for Sadaqah Jariyah in his name. It would be an honour to provide a community water well so needy families can have access to clean water, which is a basic human right we take for granted. With any money remaining we intend to donate Quran’s to spread the beautiful message of Islam for generations to come.
