I've raised £25000 to help build a veterinary clinic in Negril Jamaica to treat and give emergency care for the sick, abandoned, unloved and stray animals

GOALS
Negril, Jamaica is one of the top three major tourist attractions on the island. More popularly known for its seven miles of white sandy beaches, Negril is popular on the list of places to visit for tourists worldwide, being the home to the famous Rick’s Café and Blue Lagoon. However, what Negril is not known for is its loving treatment of stray dogs. Negril has one of the largest stray dog populations across all parishes on the island.
Through our program, we intend to build a clinic, groom room and hydrotherapy pool to treat injured animals and those with poor health issues. Servicing the Negril community and the greater west end of the island. However, before we have a facility to provide care, we need to meet initial goals for the build; 1. architecture plans and submission to parish council 2. excavate the land 3. lay the foundations and build at ground level 4. build up to level one. 5. A vehicle for outreach work and escorting sick or injured animals.
We have started the boundary wall (Dec 2023) and have plans drawn ready for the architect.
Adding to this deficit is the absence of any recovery equipment. There isn't a single hydrotherapy pool to be found within the entire parish of Westmoreland. Hydrotherapy is integral to the good health and overall recuperation of sick animals. It helps to rebuild muscle mass, and increase balance, coordination, and blood circulation. Dogs can benefit from pain relief, improved stamina, curbing weight loss plus post-surgery recovery; not to mention the reduction of inflammation with just a few sessions of hydrotherapy. On the whole, the community of true dog lovers is a small one on the island. Regrettably, many dogs are viewed as security personnel, breeding machines to make money and not God-created individuals worthy of nurturing and love.
