Story

Our Bodies Our Streets was set up to tackle the culture of public sexual harassment in Sheffield. We started the petition to the council to 'Light Up The Parks' and nearly 4000 people signed it. While the council's response was sympathetic, we were told yet again to modify our behaviour and 'walk in pairs'. There needs to be systemic change but also spaces must feel safer. To start action and reclaim space, we recently started the Safer Parks After Dark project - we aim to create a temporary light intervention to demonstrate how this 'Outdoor City' must do more work to stop excluding women and marginalised genders from the city (especially after dark).

But, we need your help!

We are a small group of volunteers and need funding to realise our projects and fund resources. Please donate what you can to help make change!

If you identify as an ally, donating is a great way to help be a part of this change! We believe victims of public sexual harassment should not be paying for the solution.
