Story

As a student at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar school, I feel honoured with the opportunity I have been given. I have been chosen, along with fifteen other students, from roughly sixty applicants to attend a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Madagascar: where we will spend two weeks conserving wildlife with a team of scientists from the charity Operation Wallacea. Operation Wallacea is an observation and conservation research charity funded by the students who partake in trips like this and their main focus is to help preserve environments and wildlife in other countries. One week of the trip will be spent in the forest and every day we will be busy taking measurements and observing the wildlife with a team of scientists. The other week will be spent on the coast snorkling, studying the coral reefs. Although it seems like I am asking for funding to go on a fun holiday with school, this trip will be very beneficial to me as I aspire to become a vet and hope to take biology at A-Level. The trip takes place in July 2020 and must be paid for through fundraising so any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you x
