In the summer of 2018 I will be volunteering at two schools in Kenya, one being Melon Mission; and this organisation provides Kenyan street children with food, clothing and education to orphaned and destitute children living in slums and the other being Silver Bells; which has the same purpose but is a smaller school. Both these schools are based in Nakuru, Kenya. I will be staying for two weeks.

I will be going in a group and we as volunteers are there to promote the children's welfare, give them support and most of all make them feel valued and loved. I will be helping these schools through teaching alongside the teaches in the classroom, sharing useful skills, singing songs + dancing!, low scale maintenance help in the kitchen and their land and general care, and other support and duties. I will also get to experience the unbelievable culture and wildlife this beautiful country has.

I hope you understand, like me, that these children are less fortunate than ourselves and make yourself aware there are multiple things that we take for granted in the UK that have never been seen by these kids! Some of the children have been through difficult times and as a team I hope our knowledge and experience will be greatly appreciated by the staff working at these schools as well as the children. If you have a love for children and want to give something I would ask for a donation, as this will be an important trip for me.
