I am trying to raise some money for the charity organisation that I work for called Asha Projects. I am hoping to raise money to fund summer activities for the children living at the refuge including a coach trip to the beach. The women/children have always requested a visit to the one of the local beaches but we have not been able to afford the cost of a coach due our very limited and over exhausted hardship funds.

Asha Projects (Domestic Violence) is a South Asian women’s organisation founded in 1984 (34 years). We run a resource centre providing information, advice, advocacy and support to Women. Most women approach us to escape domestic/gender violence and on inter-related issues such as homelessness and immigration/asylum problems, poverty, civil/family and criminal proceedings and mental health. We also have three Domestic Violence refuges where women and children can stay up to six months and access support and to get a respite from the trauma that they have experienced.

We are funded through the council, however, in the recent years we have experiences 60% cuts in our funding and we are always fighting/working very hard to survive and to offer this much needed service. We are always looking at ways to raise money from other sources. So I am reaching out to you.
