Story

In the spring of 2019 Saints Youth Centre Twinbrook will embark on a life changing opportunity by taking part in a Pilgrimage to Northern Spain.

Saints Older Seniors from the Colin Area of West Belfast will walk the final One Hundred and Twenty Kilometres of The Camino de Compestella. This walk, “The Way of St. James”, will be the culmination of a 24 week intense training programme.

The training will comprise of a number of different elements which are accredited under the over arching OCN framework. Saints Older Seniors will complete training in Mental Health Education, Leadership, First Aid Training, and will also volunteer with a variety of Homeless Agencies.

The objective of the training programme is to equip the group with the skills in raising awareness effectively, highlighting awareness of the various social and mental health issues.

To help achieve these outcomes funding for the training and “the journey” is needed. The aim is to raise funding through sponsored walks in the mountains of Mourne, Carlinford and locally on the Lisburn Tow Path and Colin Glen.

We in Saints believe in this type and quality of training and capacity building,

We in Saints believe this training will be beneficial at a local level in our community,

We in Saints believe in helping to shape and develop our future community leaders,

We in Saints passionately believe in investing in our youth,

We are asking YOU to join us and help us deliver by supporting us with any donation you wish to make, irrespective of the amount.

Thank you in advance,
