Story

The small Catalan town of Borgonya, and its football team of CD Borgonya, has had close links with Paisley and St Mirren FC since the late 19th / 20th century when the Coats family invested and developed in the local mill and town.

CD Borgonya play in the famous black and white stripes of St Mirren and proudly wear the saltire on the back of their jerseys

I had the pleasure of visiting the town on Saturday with my wife and son, and we were fortunate to take in the game against Voltrega CF.The ground is in an idyllic setting, surrounded by hills and trees, with the River Ter flowing past.

Sadly, the area was hit by a bad storm on the evening of 14-15 October and the ground and its clubhouse sufferred devastating damage, with no football or activities for the forseeable future.

Can we as fellow Buds help in getting Borgonya playing again? Please donate whatever amount you can afford and I‘ll personally ensure that all funds raised are donated to CD Borgonya

Thank you
