Salaam alaikum everyone. My name is Sakina Fatema and I'm turning 1 very soon!

The year has gone by so fast! I came into this world in a clean and safe hospital, arrived home to a warm house, with lots of presents and clothes that were bought before I was even born. I had toys all around me and was the happiest baby to have so many people looking after me.

I grew up with so much affection from all of you. I travelled to different places near and far, got to visit family and had new experiences. I tasted new foods (there's more to life than just doodh?!), was sneakily fed naughty treats from adoring uncles, learnt how to clap and wave and fake my laughter and cough. When I discovered my feet, I enjoyed a whole new level of exploring. I crawled up the stairs and gave mini heart attacks to my audience.

My lovely family and friends have showered me with so many presents throughout my first year. This makes me wish we can do the same for other babies who don't get much love and new presents. How wonderful would it be if they experienced what I did in my first year, moments that will bring a smile to their faces and provide comfort to their hearts.
