Weʼve raised £1,000 to assist the victims of the recent Durban floods, particularly our fellow South African Legion military veterans who have been hard hit.

Story

The South African Legion UK & Europe will do it's part in assisting our fellow veterans in need. As a unit we will undertake the MARCHING FOR OTHERS: 3 point challenge, visiting 3 significant South African landmarks in under 3 hours. These being, 1) South African embassy, 2) Parliament Square (saluting the statues of Mandela, Smuts & Gandhi), 3) finishing off at the SA Richmond cenotaph where a flower will be laid at the tombstone to honour each of the 39 SA soldiers buried there.

Funds in excess of £1,000 (if any) to be applied to the SA Legion UK&Europe fund for veterans in need.

A "dry run" of the marching route was conducted yesterday by a small team from SA Legion UK & Europe! Pleased to report that all went smoothly. The 3 Point Challenge was completed in 3h 15 (just 15 minutes over the target of doing it in under 3 hours) Sign up for the Marching For Others: 3 Point Challenge! Apart from a healthy day out with a band of brothers... Opportunity to raise funds for the SA Legion veterans in Durban who have suffered following the recent flood (BESL court)
